Introduction

RRC is dedicated to inspire curiosity, discovery, and learning about the marine environment through its unparalleled researches, collections, exhibitions, and education outreach programs.

Established in 2004, formerly known as Biodiversity Museum until 2011, then this museum name has been changed to South China Sea Natural History Museum.

Then once again in 1st April 2012, the name has been changed to the current name until now.

RRC started in the first 5 years (phase 1) with collecting specimens as much as the museum can. All the year’s work was focusing on sampling and collecting samples.

Then in the 2nd phase, RRC start to manage and catalogue the entire specimen into a proper collection.

Now, in the 3rd phase, RRC is trying to spread its wings to be the best repository for marine life collection in Malaysia and also the best reference centre for Malaysian specimens which contributes to research and education work in marine conservation.

With a growing network of interactive websites, the RRC is transforming itself into a hub for national and international electronic education, accessible to anyone with access to the internet.
